WordsWorth 2012

Meet the 2012 WordsWorth Director: Lisa Murphy-Lamb

This will be the third year Lisa Murphy-Lamb will run WordsWorth, THE place for young writers to hang each summer with other writers. A teacher for many years, Lisa is happy to step out of the classroom and spend time learning with and from the other teachers who come to WordsWorth to mentor and inspire. When she is not planning and preparing for her two weeks with the truly amazing young writers of the WordsWorth summer writing program, Lisa is a student in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Calgary, writing a bit herself, planning for the next People’s Poetry Festival in Calgary, photographing, and spending time with her family.

The Writers Guild of Alberta is thrilled to carry on the torch from the Young Alberta Book Society to bring you WordsWorth, a week-long writing summer camp for teens aged 12 - 18, in Bragg Creek. Backed by over 15 years of providing youth writing camps, the Guild will be committed to creating a teen camp truly worth writing home about.

Exciting details on next year’s camp will be posted on this page in the months to come. Be the first to find out this information by joining our mailing list.  It’s easy! Just send an email request to mail@writersguild.ab.ca and we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop!

In the meantime, check out this video from last year's WordsWorth!

Interested in attending a summer writing camp, but can’t make it to Bragg Creek?  No problem! The Writers Guild will also be hosting day camps at several locations across Alberta through our inkPulse Program.
